BOTSWANA DONATES TO THE REPUBLIC OF BURUNDI

Gaborone, March 25, 2014: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to inform that the Government of the Republic of Botswana on 21st March 2014 donated 16 tons of roofing sheets and blankets to the Government of the Republic of Burundi.

The donation was consequent to the recent devastating floods that hit the country. The donation was handed over by the Deputy Chief of Protocol, Mr. Ishmael Dabutha on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Botswana and received by the Deputy Chief of State Protocol Ambassador Albert Nasasagare on the Burundi side. This gesture by the Government of the Republic of Botswana is in line with the Government’s objective of contributing towards causes of common good in the international sphere based on humanitarian spirit, goodwill and empathy.
