The Ministry of Education and Skills Development invites applicants from qualified citizens of Botswana for five (5) undergraduate scholarships tenable in Mauritius for the academic year 2016. The Mauritius – Africa Scholarship Scheme covers tuition fees and course related costs, accommodation, living allowance and airfare from and back to the country of origin of the student.

MAURITIUS - AFRICA SCHOLARSHIPS TENABLE IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/17

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development invites applicants from qualified citizens of Botswana for five (5) undergraduate scholarships tenable in Mauritius for the academic year 2016. The Mauritius – Africa Scholarship Scheme covers tuition fees and course related costs, accommodation, living allowance and airfare from and back to the country of origin of the student.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants should:

1) Be citizens of Botswana in good health.

2) Have attained minimum of 46 points (BGCSE or equivalent)

3) Have school subjects in accordance with chosen speciality.

4) Be above eighteen years and not more than twenty five (25) years.

5) Have completed Secondary General Education (BGCSE or equivalent) in less than two (2) years from the date of this application.

6) All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to Oral Interview as part of the selection process.

Application to theTertiary Education Institutions (TEIs)

All candidates must, along with their application for Scholarships, also have applied for a fulltime on-campus undergraduate programme at a public TEI of their choice. This application must be made as early as possible once the TEI has opened its respective application windows on their websites. The detailed Guidelines for applications for the scholarship can be obtained from the ministry’s website: http//ministry-education.govmu.org

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

1) Applicants need to submit the completed Mauritius-Africa Scholarship Application Form to their Nominating Agency.

2) An updated Curriculum Vitae(CV)

3) Certified copy of Birth Certificate.

4) Certified Copy of Omang (National Identity)

5) Certified Copy of Certificate(s) or result slip

6) Certified copy of the passport(page 2)

7) Copy of letter of conditional offer by a public tertiary education institution in Mauritius (if available at time of application) or copy of acknowledgement notice from the TEI that an application has been made and is being processing.

8) Medical certificate to be duly filled and signed by a registered medical Practitioner in Section Six of the Application Form. This should be appropriately stamped.

ASPIRANTS WHO ARE ALREADY ON GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
