The Public is informed that submission of applications, receiving and processing of sponsorship for the financial year 2014/2015 for both Local Public and Private Institutions will commence on the 1stApril 2014. All applicants are therefore advised to follow the schedule and terms and conditions for applying for sponsorship as stated in this notice to ensure compliance with set requirements.

SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR

LOCAL PLACEMENT 2014/2015

 

The Public is informed that submission of applications, receiving and processing of sponsorship for the financial year 2014/2015 for both Local Public and Private Institutions will commence on the 1stApril 2014. All applicants are therefore advised to follow the schedule and terms and conditions for applying for sponsorship as stated in this notice to ensure compliance with set requirements. 

 

NB:

APPLICANTS ARE REMINDED THAT ADMISSION AT INSTITUTIONS IS NO GUARANTEE FOR SPONSORSHIP.

 

  • THE ISSUING AND RECEIVING OF SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION FORMS WILL BE DONE AT ALL LISTED PUBLIC AND PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES /COLLEGES.
  • SPONSORSHIP LETTERS WILL ONLY BE COLLECTED FROM THE ADMITTING INSTITUTIONS.

APPLICATIONS TO TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL COLLEGES SHALL BE MANAGED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 

a)      Botswana citizen who is NOT gainfully employed.

b)     Applicants must be able to complete the programme of study before the age of thirty five (35) years.

c)      Candidates are cautioned to pay particular attention to the stated minimum points required per programme.

d)     The cut-off point for sponsorship for 2014/2015 is 36 points with exception of those who sat for their examination in 2011 and 2012 where the cutoff point will be 34.

e)      Candidates who have upgraded their results in 2011 or 2012 will be considered under the criteria requiring minimum of 34 points. Those who upgraded in 2013 must have a minimum of 36 points.

 

SPECIAL DISPENSATION-OVC, RADP & SPED

a)      Applicants must be registered under a social programme and have garnered a minimum of 5 points less the required overall points.

b)      Applicants are advised to apply and submit their applications through the office of the Social Workers in their respective regions, and shall receive their responses through the same offices.

c)      Candidates are cautioned to pay particular attention to the stated minimum points required per programme.

d)      A confidential Social Enquiry report/ Assessment report is mandatory for every application in this category.
