His Excellency the President of the Republic of Botswana, Lieutenant General Ian Khama Seretse Khama has nominated Dr. Gloria Somolokae as Botswana’s candidate for the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the period 2016-2019.

The Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) results were released on the 24th February 2015 by the Botswana Examination Council (BEC). BEC indicated that this year 5 843 (23.20%) candidates from government and non-government aided schools were awarded Grade C or better in five syllabi compared to 5 946 (24.27 %) in 2013.

The Minister of Education and Skills Development Hon Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi will launch the Better Education for Africa’s Rise (BEAR) Project on September 22nd 2014, 0900hrs at Gaborone Technical College (GTC).

The Public is informed that submission of applications, receiving and processing of sponsorship for the financial year 2014/2015 for both Local Public and Private Institutions will commence on the 1stApril 2014. All applicants are therefore advised to follow the schedule and terms and conditions for applying for sponsorship as stated in this notice to ensure compliance with set requirements.

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development through the Botswana Education Hub introduced Top Achievers Scholarship Programme for Botswana citizens with effect from 2010/2011 financial year.

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development wishes to inform the public that the selection process for 2015 form four placement is complete.
 
The form fours are expected to report to senior secondary schools they have been admitted to on the 17th of February 2015. Boarders are expected to report to their schools on the 16th of February 2015.
