The Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security invite applications from qualified citizens of Botswana to fill the vacant post of Deputy Manager, Human Resource and Administration.

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide leadership in the human resource functions of; recruitment and selection, training and development, employee relations and other Human Resource Management issues.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1.    Provide advice and guidance on interpretation of human resources management policies to customers.

2.    Coordinates the human resource management processes of recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits.

3.    Initiates, develops and implements long, medium and short term plans and programmes on training and development, personnel administration and health and safety.

4.    Manages and reviews staff performance.

5.    Attends to employee relations matters.

6.    Reviews human resource annual plan.

7.    Coordinates preparation of manpower estimates/requirements.

8.    Monitor payment of employee benefits

9.    Develops sound operational guidelines for Records Management, Secretarial, and Cleaning services and ensures their implementation.

10. Reviews and analyses the level of adherence to set customer service standards and takes appropriate measures.

QUALIFIED APPLICANT PROFILE

To be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must have at least Degree in Human Resource Management or Public Administration, Industrial Relations or Strategic Management or Business Administration. Applicants should have a minimum of ten (12) years relevant experience two (2) of which should have been served as Assistant Manager  (D2) salary scale in Government or equivalent level in the Private Sector.

 

SALARY SCALE:    D1 (P241 704 – P266 844) per annum

 

BENEFITS

(i)           Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee 50%).

(ii)          Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% and employee 5%).    

 

LEAVE:   30 working days per annum.
