The Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security invite applications from qualified citizens of Botswana to fill the post of Director, Communication.

 

Main purpose of the job

To coordinate and implement policies relating to Ministry communications.

 

Key Performance Areas

  1. Coordinates the development and implementation of Ministry strategy
  2. Interprets policies relating to Communication Services and advices the   

Deputy Permanent Secretary on policy issues.

  1. Networks and liaises with stakeholders on issues relating to development of    information products.
  2. Provides strategic leadership and direction for the achievement of  

Communications Services projects.

  1. Coordinates Advertising and Marketing Space for the Ministry.
  2. Coordinates major Ministry advertising and marketing campaigns.
  3. Coordinates major communications initiatives (website, videos, major  

publications etc) aligned to the objectives of the Ministry.

  1. Initiates, develops and reviews Communication Services, policies and strategies.
  2. Provides logistical oversight to all major events and launches, including  

development of promotional materials.

  1. Develops and facilitates the implementation of project management tools to track the implementation of advertising and marketing campaigns.
  2. Undertakes Market Research and Impact assessment of marketing  campaigns.
  3. Monitors the use of financial resources.

 

 

QUALIFICATION PROFILE
 

To be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must have at least a Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communication Studies or equivalent, plus sixteen (16) years relevant post qualification experience two (2) years of which must have been served in Media related environment.

Salary scale:     E1 (349,704 – 363,840) per annum

 

Appointment will be on contract for 24 to 36 months, with gratuity at the rate of 25% payable upon expiry of the contract.

 

Benefits

(i)           Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee 50%).

(ii)          Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% and employee 5%).

Leave:    30 working days per annum
