PARLIMENT PASSES THE COUNTER TERRORISM BILL No 26 of 2014
The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security Hon.Dikgakgamatso Ndelu Seretse presented the second reading of the Counter-Terrorism Bill No 26 of 2014. The Minister said the Counter-Terrorism legislation will among others, assist the country to develop and implement a national counter-terrorism strategy and national action plan. The implementation of this legislation will be interrelated to other security legislation such as the Anti-Human Trafficking Bill, 2014; Chemical Weapons Prohibition Bill, 2014 and Proceeds and Instruments of Crime Bill, 2014 which have already been passed in the current sitting of this Parliament. This Bill also has inter-linkages with many other security pieces of legislation that are in existence.The bill passed its second reading on Tuesday.
