DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The Social welfare mandate is imbedded in its divisions and the specific services they offer and that is
- Adressing the psychosocial needs of customers as well as serve as advocates and referral point for complex social cases such as adoption, maritalcases, suicidalcases, childmaintenance cases e.t.c
- Providing care and support to orphans and vulnerable children
- Coordination and support of welfare support to registered destitute persons who are supported on a monthly basis with some food basket and also a cash component of P90.00.
- The programme is also responsible for the Coordination and monitoring of the Community Home Based Programme (CHBC) and beneficiaries are supported timeously with some food basket and psychosocial support.
HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE
Eligibility for destitute benefit is targeted and conditional. Eligibility is focused on individuals who are either self-identified, or have been identified and nominated by household members or community leaders or a local organization and most of the time the VDC andthe Social Welfare Committee play a major role in identifying the destitute people.
HOW DO I APPLY
No application is required.Some social assessment is conducted by the social welfare officer and those who would have been found to have insufficient assets and income sources to live on and thus would be recommended to benefit from the programme.
