  The department comprises of two sections/units: 

• Water and Wastewater
• Sewerage Sections

Water Section:

This sections is responsible for provision of portable water to the following villages: Otse, Mogobane and Metsimaswaane settlement. Water supply in Otse and Mogobane Villages is from Water Utilities Cooperation Transmission line from Gaborone to Lobatse. South East District Council purchases water from WUC and distribute to the villages, while Metsimaswaane settlement get water through bowsing by trucks.

Waste Water Section:

In South East District there are two wastewater schemes, Ramotswa and Tlokweng. Ramotswa scheme covers both Ramotswa village, Taung and Boatle. The effluent from the scheme is collected at Ramotswa treatment ponds. Tlokweng scheme only covers Tlokweng village and the village effluent is discharged into Gaborone scheme and treated at Gaborone City Council Sewerage Treatment Plant.
