Selebi Phikwe Landfill located 6 km west of the town receives all waste be it commercial, industrial, domestic, institutional etc, as long as it is non-hazardous waste. This waste presents in the following forms:

- Clinical waste
Special waste i.e. – Confidential items from health care facilities, banks, police and the BDF.
Part of this waste is collected by council vehicles and the waste is disposed between 0800 and 1600 hours weekdays and 0800 and 1530 during the weekends and holidays. The service is available to all citizens and non-citizens.

Treatment of waste
Clinical waste and special waste are burned to less harmful products by incineration before final disposal. The above sequence is followed and the cost is also covered in the table above.
