DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:
- This service is cutting of the Road section to create path for underground services like sewer pipes, water line, electrical cables, telecommunication cables etc. The reinstatement of the Road is required immediately after lying/burying the service.
HOW DO I OBTAIN THE SERVICE
-Application/request is made through Council Secretaries office detailing the service i.e. Telecommunication cables.
-The sketch plan should be attached
- Reinstatement of the crossing
-Relevant signage should be put in place before execution of works
- Alternative routes (diversions)should be defined before road closure
-The service should not be laid not less than 500mm below finished road level
-Backfilling should be done by approved material and in layers-sub-grade, sub-base & base and compaction should be 93%, 95%, 98% Mod AASHTO respectively. As per the existing pavement layers .Roads officers should be contacted for inspection.
-Surfacing should be similar to the existing.ie if is bituminized, concrete or paving.
-Joint final inspection should be done by Roads officers and the company before the road is open.
COSTS INVOLVED TO OBTAIN THE SERVICE
- The company/individual has to incur the costs of reinstatement as stated in 3B.
