DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE

Jwaneng Town Council landfill is located approximately 3km southwest of the township. The facility receives all types of non- hazardous wastes for land filling as listed below, and clinical waste which is hazardous is treated through incineration prior to disposal

• Domestic waste
• Garden waste
• Builder’s rubble
• Soil
• Special (confidential) waste
• Tyres

The facility also allows for salvaging of materials or articles for recycling and/or reuse.

HOW DO I OBTAIN THE SERVICE? 

Disposal

• Registration with security
• Weighing (in)
• Offloading
• Weighing (out)
• Exit the facility

Salvaging

• Written request for salvage of desired article or waste material
• Approval granted permit issued
• Liaise with security at the landfill
• Salvaging of material
• Weighing (out)
• Exit facility

The site operates from 0800 hrs to 1600hrs weekdays and 0800hrs to 1530hrs on weekends

COSTS INVOLVED IN OBTAINING THE SERVICE?

Treatment of clinical waste is P32.00 per kg and the rest of waste types are free of charge
