GHANZI DISTRICT TO HOST CLEANUP THE WORLD CAMPAIGN COMMEMORATION The Ghanzi District through the Ghanzi District Council under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will be hosting this year’s commemorations of the National Clean-Up the World Campaign on the 20th September 2013.  These commemorations will be held at the Ghanzi Township under the theme “Our Place; Our Planet; Our Responsibility” and will be spearheaded by the Department of Primary Health Care Services.  

GHANZI DISTRICT TO HOST CLEANUP THE WORLD CAMPAIGN COMMEMORATION

 

The Ghanzi District through the Ghanzi District Council under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will be hosting this year’s commemorations of the National Clean-Up the World Campaign on the 20th September 2013.  These commemorations will be held at the Ghanzi Township under the theme “Our Place; Our Planet; Our Responsibility” and will be spearheaded by the Department of Primary Health Care Services.

The theme of this event calls for citizen cooperation in ensuring cleaner communities by actively participating in cleaning up their local environments. This will in-turn means a cleaner Botswana leading to a cleaner World. Activities for the day include among others announcements of results and award of prizes to winning Villages of the recently ended Clean Village Competition, Official address by high level guests, official march (mogwanto) from the main Kgotla and exhibitions by the participating Villages.

The keynote address will be made by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hon Peter Siele who will be in the company of District Leadership, members of the Diplomatic Corp, Heads of Departments from Government, Parastatals, Private Sector, Church Leaders and the people of Botswana.
