Gaborone City Council wish to alert the public about the auction sale which shall take place at Fire Sub Station along A1 Road premises on the    27th April 2013  at 0935hrs.

Lists of vehicles and plants to be auctioned and a contract document intended to be used for purchase of goods, can be collected from Council Main Depot, Plot No: 1224, Haille Selaise Road, Procurement and Asset Disposal Division, Office No: 41. Vehicle and plant lists may be collected during working hours between 8:00am and 16:00pm on weekdays effective from 04th April 2013                                

Vehicles and plants will be sold in lot numbers to the highest bidder. All vehicles and plants are sold with a reserve price and only bids equivalent or above the reserve price will be considered.

Viewing of vehicles and plants will start on the 15th April to 26th April 2013.. The actual sale will start at 0930hrs on the…27th April 2013.There will be no viewing of vehicles and plants on the day of auction.

Lots are offered ‘’as is in the condition’’ without any warranty expressed or implied as to age, year of manufacture, model, condition, make etc.

After each successful bid, the Auctioneer will collect a bidding card relating to the lot under bid and the copy of contract document signed by the successful bidder.

The auction will be conducted by Supplies Manager at Fire Sub Station along A1 Road. Bidders will be seated in one place and are reminded to take along with umbrellas for protection from the heat.

Vehicles and plants shall only be sold to citizens and/ or 100% citizens owned companies only.

All bidders will be required to produce;

 Individuals; National Identity Cards (Omang)

Companies/Business;

(i) Business/Company Registration Certificates (eg certificate   of incorporation or equivalent) certified by issuing authority,  (ii) Completely filled Declaration Form for 100% citizen owned companies.

(iii)Copies IDs (omang) of all shareholders and Directors of the  Company

 (iv) Copy of Form 2(c) or equivalent,  showing all company shareholders, Certified by issuing authority,

Each Bidder will be allowed to purchase a maximum of two auction vehicles.

Bidders are not allowed to sell or transfer biding cards to third party.

  • Bidders wishing to participate in the auction shall pay a refundable deposit of P2000.00 for each vehicle or plant one intends to bid, failing which they shall not bid.
  • Collection of deposits will be on the 26th April 2013, from 0730hrs to 1530hrs. Payments shall be made at Council Revenue Office Room No: 1 at Civic Centre, Plot No: 330 along Independence Avenue. THERE WILL BE NO COLLECTION OF DEPOSITS ON THE DAY OF SALE
  • Deposits will be returned to unsuccessful bidders immediately after the auction.
  • Bidders who fail to get their deposits back immediately after the sale will be given five (5) days to claim back their deposit. The bidder whose name appears on the official receipt is the only one allowed to claim back the deposit. No one will be allowed to collect deposit on behalf of another person.

 Registration of bidders will start from 0730hrs to 0930hrs on the 27th April 2013 and the actual sale will start at 0935hrs.

Payment for a lot shall be made in cash or bank guaranteed cheques. Any successful bidder, who fails to make payment within five (5) working days, will lose his or her deposits paid to Gaborone City Council. Vehicles and plants not paid for shall be reverted to the council. Gaborone City Council reserve the right to sell the vehicle or plant to interested registered bidders with the amount bided for, and to pay full purchase price on first come first serve bases, upon elapsed of the set period of completion of purchase transaction.

The purchased lot shall only be removed from council premises upon presentation of the official receipt of full purchase price.

The fully paid up lot shall be removed from council premises within a period of 5days from date of Auction and the lot not removed shall be charged P100 per day for storage excluding security and insurance of the purchased lot. Security and insurance of the lot shall be responsibility of the successful bidder.

The handling and removal of the purchased lot(s) are the sole responsibility of the successful bidder.

The successful bidder shall become the owner of the vehicle or plant upon payment for the lot. All ownership risks shall be transferred to the successful bidder from the close of business on the day upon which payment is made.

Transfer of ownership from citizen to non-citizen shall only be considered 24 months after vehicles are bought from Gaborone City Council.

Each vehicle or plant won by a bidder will be registered strictly under his/her name or in the case of companies, the company name.

Buying a card constitutes acceptance by the bidder of all the terms and conditions.

Gaborone City Council reserves the right to refuse or reject bids in the event of a dispute. If a bidder is not satisfied with his/her bid, this should be communicated to the auctioneer before accepting the bid documents during the sale.

Any violation of these guidelines will disqualify offenders from future sales.

ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE ON THE DAY OF SALE SUPERCEDES ANY PRINTED MATERIAL.
