Central District Council comes for twinning benchmarking The Central District Council sent a delegation of six (6) people to come and benchmark on issues pertaining to twinning in the City of Francistown. The delegation came on the 12th August 2016 and it was led by Tassman Chebani who is the Chairperson of the Twinning and Partnership Committee in central District.

Central District Council comes for twinning benchmarking

The Central District Council sent a delegation of six (6) people to come and benchmark on issues pertaining to twinning in the City of Francistown. The delegation came on the 12th August 2016 and it was led by Tassman Chebani who is the Chairperson of the Twinning and Partnership Committee in central District.

According to the Chairperson of the Twinning and Partnership Committee, Honorable Chebani, they have recently formed the committee as they see the need to work with other institutions, regions, towns and villages both locally regionally and abroad. They came to the City of Francistown to learn best practices of how the committee operates as they have heard good things about the City of Francistown Twinning Committee.

A presentations on the operationally of the City of Francistown Twinning Committee was done and the delegates were impressed. Both cities agreed to work hand in hand in partnership issues as already they have established relationships that show how important is twinning to both CDC and Francistown. The delegates also visited Boikhutso Day Care center which has benefited from the Twinning partnership between the City of Francistown and City of Genk. The Day Care was funded with P28, 000.00 which was used to start the second phase of their Day Care project.
