Central District Council is charged with the provision of infrastructure and social services to the Central District Community. Purpose of the job
To plan, coordinate and implement provision of quantity surveying services at District headquarters.

Core areas of responsibilities

• To ensure provision of Quantity surveying services for the Local Authority in support to building facilities, development and maintenance in conformity with established legislation, regulations, policies and directives.
• Supervises the preparation of cost estimates of building development and major maintenance projects
• To be involved with the pre and post contract consultancy services for both in house and outsourced projects.
• To compile final accounts for completed projects.
• To provide contract administration and management of District projects.
• Ensures that Bills of Quantities and specifications are prepared on time to enable the institution to undertake the tendering procedures concerning capital and maintenance projects.
• To compile skills inventory in quantity surveying procedures, practices, standards and management including mentoring and coaching.
• Undertakes any other duties directed by management.

Position requirements

A minimum of a degree in Building Economics /Quantity Surveying from a recognized university and ten(10) years relevant work experience, 2 years of which as Principal Quantity Surveyor II  at D3 scale or equivalent.
