General description:

Central District Council is charged with the provision of infrastructure and social services to the Central District Community. It is in line with its quest for excellence in service delivery that talented and qualified professionals are invited to apply for the above mentioned position tenable at Tutume Sub District Council.

Purpose of the job
To plan, coordinate and monitor provision of buildings infrastructure at the sub district level.

Job description:

Core areas of responsibilities

  • Preparation of feasibility and site analysis studies including reports.
  • Carrying out of outline proposals, schemes Designs, Detailed Designs and preparation of production drawing including ensuring that designs are economically, functionally and aesthetically viable.
  • Requests preliminary estimates from quantity surveyors and submits preliminary estimates to client for the funding.
  • Provision of site supervision to ensure that specifications followed, programme is adhered to, good co-ordination on site prevails, financial appraisals are done periodically re-measurements of works are done, site records are taken and kept for future use, project is handed over in good time and final accounts done to detail.
  • Co-ordination of all internal and external project consultants including submission of drawing /designs and obtaining approvals from relevant authorities/ Stakeholders.
  • Directly responsible to the Head of Department, for overall supervision management of all aspects of ‘pre contract’ and ‘post contract’ stages of projects.

Job requirements:

Position requirements
 

A minimum of a degree in Architecture or related field from a recognized university and six (6) years relevant work experience, 2 years of which as Senior Architect at D4 scale or equivalent.
