GABORONE - The popular talent search project, My Star is back again and registration for the next season starts this weekend.
The producer, Keabetswe Sesinyi aka Master D says registration is expected to start on November 21 in Jwaneng, November 28 in Orapa, Selebi Phikwe on December 5, Francistown on December 24-25, Maun on December 31 and Ghanzi on January 1. He says they have decided to travel around the country even to rural areas to search for talent since the show has received so much response and many are willing to showcase they talent. Master D says people should expect a lot of fireworks because the show is now growing, adding that Mascom is still their main partners in nurturing talent in Botswana. However, he notes that they are still holding talks with Btv and Office of the President so that they buy the rights to televise the show. He also adds that the tour will be captured but will be televised on a later stage. However, Master D explains that during these registration tours, they will also be launching "My Star 2008 finalist's newly released albums". Kitso Selato, the winner of My Star 2008 has released an eight tracked album titled "I'll be there". The album comprises songs, Your Man, So Long, Don't Give up, Heaven and Excuse My Eyes. During the show, Kitso won P20 000 from sponsors Mascom, a one-year recording contract with Master D and a trip to London. The runner ups, Dineo Thabakgolo and Naledi Radiposo, who have collaborated and go by the name Kristal, have also released an album titled "Kristal". The album has eight tracks which both ladies sing together with the passion they had always displayed on the show. Kristal includes songs such as Swagger, Lover Boy, Daddy, Dabria, and Something about You. Both the albums where recorded at Music Complex Studio in London, United Kingdom. BOPA |
