The Botswana Government operates a comprehensive tendering and evaluation process for all Government purchases whether for the purchase of commodity items, computer equipment, consultancy services, building and infrastructure development, vehicles or other items and services.

Tenders are issued by the requesting Government Department or Ministry and the tender evaluation process is then governed and managed by Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB). Tender evaluations are carried out by the requesting Department or Ministry. Tenders over the value of Pula 100,000 are published in the official Government Gazette on a weekly basis.

Declaration Form for Reservation and Price Preference for Citizen-owned Businesses

Every tender bid must be accompanied by a completed declaration form. Citizen-owned businesses wishing to register, but who do not want to bid, may also submit the form. Part 'A' should be completed only by wholly citizen-owned (100%) businesses and Part 'B' by others (majority citizen-owned (between 99% and 51%) and minority citizen-owned (between 25% and 50%) businesses).

Registration for Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Contractors

The PPADB requests companies who have registered with PPADB under contractor registration for ICT related tenders to update their profile. This is to enable listed companies to participate in the ICT citizen reservation schemes. All listed companies are called to furnish the Board with their latest contact details. Companies that will not respond to this advert by 1 April 2006 will be struck off the list. For further information contact Charles Joseph 3602043 and Lefhoko Ramoatlhodi 3602042.
